A big evening at the plate for the Everett AquaSox led to the 11-5 loss for the Tri-City Dust Devils (14-13) on Wednesday night at Gesa Stadium. Despite the rough evening for the pitching staff, the Dust Devils had 11 hits in the game.
Tri-City led the AquaSox twice in the game. The Dust Devils scored four runs in the third inning to take the 4-2 advantage. The team also entered the fifth inning with a one-run lead. Everett was able to erase the deficit after having success against Tri-City's bullpen scoring seven unanswered runs over the final five innings. Luis Asuncion was a bright spot for the Dust Devils. Asuncion had a single to extend his hitting streak to ten games. The streak is tied for team's longest of the season.
The series will continue on Thursday night. Left-hander Ben Sheckler will start for Tri-City in the middle game of the three-game series. Everett will counter with right-hander Randy Torres. It will be Hat Giveaway Night presented by Community Real Estate Group. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a hat.
