Dust Devils Fall, Playoff Hopes Stay Alive

September 3, 2017

[Empty Body]

The Tri-City Dust Devils (20-17, 40-35) could not muster a comeback in front of 3,386 fans at Gesa Stadium on Saturday night as the team fell 2-0 to the Vancouver Canadians. Ben Sheckler suffered the tough-luck loss after allowing only two runs in eight strong innings of work.
The offense remained quiet for the Dust Devils. Tri-City suffered shutout losses their last three games and have been held without a run over the last 33 innings. Despite the loss, the Dust Devils remain alive in the playoff chase heading into the final game of the regular season on Sunday night. Tri-City will need Spokane to lose to the Everett AquaSox on Sunday to have a chance at clinching the last postseason bid in the Northwest League's North Division.
Left-hander Aaron Leasher will start the final game of the regular season on Sunday. The Canadians will counter with right-hander Colton Laws. There will be a postgame fireworks show after Sunday's game to celebrate the regular season finale presented by Lourdes Health. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
