Dust Devils Suffer Walk-Off Loss

August 25, 2017

[Empty Body]

Four errors were too much for the Tri-City Dust Devils (16-13, 36-31) to overcome on Thursday night as the team lost to the Spokane Indians 4-3. Christian Inoa delivered the walk-off winning hit for Spokane off of Tri-City reliever Fred Schlichtholz in the bottom of the ninth inning.
After falling behind by three runs, the Dust Devils began to rally in the fifth inning. Justin Lopez hit his sixteenth double of the season to drive home the team's first run of the game. Luiz Almanzar came through in the top of the seventh inning, tying the game after hitting a two-out single that brought in two runs. Curtis Terry began the bottom of the ninth inning with a double and advanced to third on the play after Dust Devils' centerfielder Tre Carter committed a throwing error, the team's fourth of the game. Terry was pinch ran for by Jonah McReynolds, who ultimately scored the winning run after Inoa's walk-off single.
Left-hander Nick Margevicius will try to salvage the final game of the road series for Tri-City. Spokane will counter with right-hander Demarcus Evans. The team will return home on September 1st to begin a three-game series against the Vancouver Canadians, which will be the final series of the regular season. September 1st will be a $1 Family Feast Night presented by CO-Energy and WSU Cougar Night at Gesa Stadium. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
