Four Tri-City hurlers combined to blank the Emeralds on Monday night as the Dust Devils (14-12) finished the seven-game road swing with a 5-0 win over Eugene. Adrian Morejon led the way with six scoreless innings to lead the way on the mound for the Dust Devils.
Tri-City took an early lead and never looked back. The first four batters of the game all came in to score for the Dust Devils. Luis Ascuncion drove in three runs with a bases clearing triple in the first inning. He was brought home two batters latter off of a sacrifice fly from Jalen Washington. The team was able to later add an insurance run in the fifth inning. Morejon, who earned his second win of the season, teamed with relievers Andres Munoz, Austin Smith, and Jordan Guerrero to throw the team's second shutout of the year.
Tuesday will be the first off day of the Northwest League season. The team will return to Gesa Stadium on July 12th for Thunder Alley Motorsports Night presented by Thunder Alley Motorsports. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
