Explosive Inning Derails Dust Devils

August 10, 2017

[Empty Body]

The Tri-City Dust Devils (8-7, 28-25) were sunk by a difficult inning on Thursday afternoon as the team lost 11-0 to the Vancouver Canadians at Nat Bailey Stadium. The Dust Devils surrendered ten runs to Vancouver in the bottom of the second inning, the most they have allowed in an inning this season.
Tri-City was only able to collect three hits in the game, all singles. Luis Almanzar had two of the team's three hits. Eight of the first nine batters that came to the plate for the Canadians in the bottom of the second inning were able to score. David Jacob capped off the Vancouver's big inning by hitting a three-run home run off of Dust Devils' reliever Elliot Ashbeck.
The team will now return to Gesa Stadium for a five-game series against the Hillsboro Hops beginning Friday night. Left-hander Osvaldo Hernandez will start for Tri-City in the series opener against the Hops. Friday will be Star Wars Night presented by Gesa Credit Union and a $1 Family Feast Night sponsored by CO-Energy. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
