An early lead slipped away from the Tri-City Dust Devils (1-1) on Friday night as the team lost 8-6 to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. Highly touted prospect Adrian Morejon allowed one run in three innings on the mound for the Dust Devils in his first professional start.

Tri-City jumped on the scoreboard in the first inning despite not collecting a hit. Salem-Keizer's pitching staff issued six consecutive walks to the Dust Devils, forcing in three runs. Tri-City saw the team's lead slip away in the sixth inning, when reliever Emmanuel Clase allowed four runs to the Volcanoes. Tre Carter hit the first home run of his professional career during the fifth inning, which was the second blast in as many nights for the Dust Devils.
Right-handed pitcher Will Stillman will start the middle game of the five-game road series on Saturday night. Salem-Keizer will counter with right-handed pitcher Sidney Duprey. The team will return to Gesa Stadium on Tuesday, June 20th for the home opener. There will be a postgame fireworks show that night presented by CO-Energy.
