Tri-City Tosses Series Finale Shutout

August 26, 2017

[Empty Body]

The Tri-City Dust Devils (17-13, 37-31) avoided the sweep on Friday night as the team topped the Spokane Indians 4-0. The shutout was Tri-City's Northwest League-high eighth of the season.
Five pitchers, Nick Margevicius, Elliot Ashbeck, Mark Zimmerman, Travis Radke, and Trevor Megill, combined to keep the Indians scoreless. An error by Spokane third baseman Kole Enright on a stolen base attempt by Robbie Podorsky allowed the Dust Devils to score an unearned run the top of the first inning. Tri-City added three runs in the eighth and ninth innings to add valuable insurance to the team's lead. The win moves the Dust Devils back into a tie with Vancouver for first place in the Northwest League's North Division with eight games remaining in the regular season.
Tri-City will start a five-game series against the Hillsboro Hops on Saturday night. First pitch will be at 5:03 pm. Left-hander Ben Sheckler will start the series opener for the Dust Devils. Tri-City will return home on September 1st to begin a three-game series against the Vancouver Canadians, which will be the final series of the regular season. September 1st will be a $1 Family Feast Night presented by CO-Energy and WSU Cougar Night at Gesa Stadium. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
