El Paso Chihuahuas Game Summary
Chihuahuas 6 Memphis 2 - Tuesday
WP: Oramas (7-6)
LP: Lyons (8-2)
S: Sullivan (9)
Tyler Greene went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs in the El Paso Chihuahuas 6-2 win over the Memphis Redbirds Tuesday at Southwest University Park. The Chihuahuas victory ended the Redbirds' nine-game winning streak.
Greene's solo home run in the first inning gave the Chihuahuas their first advantage. Memphis tied the game in the second inning and the deadlock lasted until the bottom of the fifth, when the Chihuahuas scored four runs in an eight-batter inning. Jason Lane's bases loaded walk was followed by Greene's three-run triple off the top of the right field wall.
Juan Oramas did not allow any earned runs in five innings of work, picking up his third straight win in the process. El Paso turned two double plays Tuesday, their eighth and ninth of the four-game series. El Paso manager Pat Murphy was ejected in the top of the eighth inning for arguing a play at first base.
The Chihuahuas have only one homestand remaining in 2014.
