Las Vegas starter Zack Wheeler allowed only one run in five innings Friday, as the 51s beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 5-2. The Chihuahuas have now split the first two games of all five of their seasons.

The 51s scored once in the first and twice in the fourth against Walker Lockett, who suffered the loss in his first start of the season. Chihuahuas catcher Raffy Lopez went 1-for-4 with his first home run of the season. Dusty Coleman hit a pinch-hit solo homer in the eighth inning, giving El Paso three pinch hits in four plate appearances this year.
T.J. Weir and Colten Brewer delivered scoreless relief outings Friday, giving the Chihuahuas' bullpen five scoreless outings in its six appearances so far.
