ELIZABETHTON, TN - Friday's game between the Elizabethton Twins and Danville Braves saw the lead change four times, but the night ended in Elizabethton's favor, with a 6-5 walk-off win.

The Twins used four pitchers in a bullpen game, beginning with Owen Griffith, who threw two scoreless frames with three strikeouts. Osiris German followed, pitching his longest outing of the year. German pitched four innings, allowing two runs on three hits.

Yancarlos Baez struggled, allowing two runs an inning of work and Benjamin Dum had to take over in the eight. While he allowed Danville to take a lead in the top of the eight, his fourth blown save in as many tries, Dum picked up his fourth win of the year, pitching the final two innings while striking out three.

The game's scoring started in the fourth, when Seth Gray launched his 10th home run of the season to right-center field, a solo shot that put the Twins up 1-0. While Danville scored two in the fifth to take a 2-1 lead, Elizabethton responded with three in the sixth on a Max Smith single and Charles Mack two-run home run, Mack's seventh homer of the year,

After the D-Braves took the lead back in the top of the eighth, the E-Twins were retired 1-2-3 in the bottom half and entered the ninth down to their final three outs.

Willie Joe Garry Jr. singled with one out and Ruben Santana walked. Then with two outs, Gray cracked his third hit of the day down the right field line, a double that scored both Garry Jr. and Santana for the 6-5 win.

Elizabethton looks to win the series Saturday, at 6:30 p.m. against Danville in the second of the three games. The first 750 fans through the games receive a Ray Smith bobblehead and fireworks will follow, the final firework night of 2019.
