Eugene to Host 2014 NWL All-Star Game

November 11, 2013

The Eugene Emeralds have announced that PK Park will play host to the 2014 Northwest League All-Star Game. The league reinstated the midsummer classic in 2013 with the inaugural game hosted by the Everett Aquasox. The game will match the North and South divisions with Vancouver, Tri-City, Spokane and Everett comprising the visiting squad taking on Salem, Hillsboro, Boise and host Eugene.

The event will be hosted by each of the league's clubs on an eight-year rotation. The game will be part of a three day All-Star week with planning for events such as a fanfest and hitting challenge already underway. This year's event will be just the third All-Star game in league history following the 2013 game in Everett and the 2004 contest which commemorated 50 years of Northwest League baseball.

The Eugene Emeralds were one of the original six in the Northwest League back in the inaugural 1955 season. "The Emeralds are excited to bring this event to Lane County. We are hoping to bring a truly Eugene experience to the festivities and look forward to showing off our great city." Allan Benavides.
