The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, are pleased to announce that RHP Alex Faedo and RHP Drew Carlton have been named to the Western Division All-Star Team for the Eastern League All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 10 at The Diamond in Richmond, VA. ALEX FAEDO
Alex Faedo has been named an All-Star for the first time in his career. Faedo, the Detroit Tigers first round selection in 2017 out of the University of Florida, is in his first full season at the Double-A level. Faedo made his Double-A debut for the SeaWolves in 2018 and made 12 starts for the club that season. In 15 starts for the SeaWolves in 2019, Faedo has posted a 5-5 record with a 3.36 ERA. He's struck out 94 while walking 16 in 83 innings pitched. He combined with Drew Carlton to throw the third no-hitter in SeaWolves history on April 24 against Bowie at UPMC Park.
DREW CARLTON
Drew Carlton has been named an All-Star for the first time in his career. Carlton is also in his first full season at the Double-A level. He made five relief appearances for Erie in 2018. In 26 appearances out of the Erie bullpen, Carlton is 0-2 with a 1.66 ERA. He is a perfect 8-for-8 in save opportunities. The right-hander has allowed seven earned runs in 38 innings of work. He has not allowed an earned run in 23 of his 26 appearances. Carlton was selected by the Tigers in the 32nd round of the 2017 draft out of Florida State.
The SeaWolves continue a seven-game homestand tonight against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies at 7:05 p.m. Tonight features post-game fireworks set to the music of Florida Georgia Line thanks to C.A. Curtze. On Wednesday, July 3, the SeaWolves will host their second ever MEGA BLAST fireworks spectacular. It will be the largest fireworks show in team history and be accompanied by a live, on-field performance by the Erie Philharmonic Brass Quintet.
