The SeaWolves' jumped on the scoreboard early and never trailed in the 7-3 victory over the Bowie Baysox Thursday at Prince George's Stadium.
Erie rattled off five runs in the top of the first inning. Isaac Paredes drove a sacrifice fly to right to pick up his first RBI of the season for Erie. With Cameron and Lester on off of singles, Jake Rogers launched his 11th home run of the season on the first pitch from Reid Love. Kody Eaves and Herlis Rodriguez both nailed singles to put runners on the corners after the home run. Rodriguez sprinted to steal second, baiting Martin Cervenka to throw the ball late and inviting Eaves to score.
Paredes brought another run home in the second inning in on Love, punching an RBI single to score Danny Woodrow to make it 6-0 Erie.
Erie's last run of the game came from the bat off Paredes in the fourth. Cameron Ming had worked two outs after allowing Woodrow and Alcantara to reach, but a rip to left from Erie's second baseman propelled them to a 7-0 lead.
Bowie scored theur first run on Alfred Gutierrez in the third. Ryan Mouncastle hit a slow roller to third, where Josh Lester picked it, but sailed the throw to the right. The error allowed Jaycob Brugman to touch home, making it an unearned run on Gutierrez.
Aderlin Rodriguez smacked the final two runs in for Bowie in the seventh on Trent Szkutnik, but the Baysox did not score again.
The SeaWolves (46-50) now hold a 5-7 record against the Bowie Baysox (43-53) this season. Gutierrez (1-1) received his first AA win after managing to not allow an earned run in 5.2 IP, walking one and fanning four batters. Love (2-5) took the loss for Bowie after surrendering six runs in 1.2 IP.
