The SeaWovles continued to roll as they walked off on the Binghamton Rumble Ponies for the second straight night with a 5-4 final in 10 innings at UPMC Park.
Erie starter Matt Manning began his night by retiring nine of the first 10 batters he faced. The Rumble Ponies, however, would break through against the Erie righty in the top of the fourth. Jason Krizan led off with a single. With one out, Manning walked Barrett Barnes and David Thompson, loading the bases for Andrés Giménez. Gimenez lifted a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Krizan for a 1-0 lead.
The Ponies added to their lead in the fifth. Quinn Brody led off with a walk and with one out, Gavin Cecchini homered to left for a 3-0 lead.
The SeaWolves responded in the bottom of the fifth against Binghamton starter Andrew Church. Sergio Alcántara and Chace Numata both singled with one out and advanced up a base on a wild pitch. Cam Gibson singled home both baserunners to make it a 3-2 game. Gibson stole second and scored on a two-out, Jose Azocar base knock to right, tying the game 3-3.
The 'Wolves took their first lead in the bottom of the sixth when Frank Schwindel led off and belted a solo home run to left for a 4-3 advantage. The home run for Schwindel was his second of the season and first at UPMC Park.
Binghamton tied the game in the eighth against Erie reliever Ethan DeCaster. David Thompson led off with a single and with one out, Braxton Lee singled to put the tying run in scoring position. DeCaster struck out Brody for the second out but walked Patrick Mazeika, loading the bases. Cecchini drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring Thompson, tying the game 4-4. Erie then summoned Will Vest who retired Krizan as the Ponies stranded the bases loaded.
Both Will Vest and Binghamton reliever Adonis Uceta worked scoreless ninth innings to send the game into the 10th.
In the top of the 10th with the free runner in Thompson at second, Vest retired the side in order to give Erie a chance to win in the bottom half.
In the last of the 10th, Erie began with a pinch runner Luke Burch at second. Gibson singled to center, pushing Burch to third. Derek Hill then worked a full count before lining a game-winning, RBI single to right, scoring Burch for the win.
Vest (2-3) earned the win for the SeaWolves hurling 2.1 scoreless innings allowing no hits with no walks and two strikeouts.
Uceta (3-3) took the loss for the Ponies allowing an unearned run on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
Manning took the no-decision allowing three runs on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 4.1 innings.
