Turnbull Fans Eleven in Complete Game Shutout

Spencer Turnbull silenced the Reading Fightin Phils (26-35) Sunday with a complete game shutout to give the Erie SeaWolves (26-35) a 6-0 win.
Erie scored first thanks to a two-out RBI single from A.J. Simcox on Franklyn Kilome. 
Reading's best chance to score came in the sixth inning after manager Greg Legg was ejected by home plate umpire Chris Marco. Jan Hernandez to push Malquin Canelo to the corner with two outs. Turnbull remained strong, striking out Darick Hall to end the top of the sixth.
Harold Castro belted in Jake Rogers on a double in the seventh inning, then scored on a wild pitch to give Erie the 3-0 lead.
After Ficociello and Sedio both singled on Tyler Gilbert, Jake Rogers crushed a three-run bomb to left field to push Erie further at 6-0 in the eighth.
Turnbull (3-5) finished the game at 115 pitches, only allowed four hits and struck out a season high 11 batters. Kilome (1-3) took the loss despite a quality start, hurling 6.0 IP, five hits and only one run with three strikeouts.
The SeaWolves head to Hartford after their off-day Monday to start a three game series with the Yard Goats Tuesday night at 7:05 PM. Kyle Funkhouser (1-3, 4.27 ERA) is set to start on the bump for Erie.
