Landen Roupp started on the mound for Eugene and had a strong performance. He didn’t allow a run during his four-inning outing and allowed two hits, one walk, and struck out six.

Eugene struck first and scored all five of their runs in the third inning.

It started with a sacrifice fly hit by Vaun Brown to left field, bringing Najee Gaskins home. Right after, Jairo Pomares hit a two-run home run over the center field fence to make the score 3-0. The inning ended with another two-run home run by Luis Toribio to score the Emeralds’ fifth and final runs of the night.

Hillsboro hopped on the board in the seventh inning after third baseman Deyvision De Los Santos hit his second home run of the season over the right-field wall. The next batter, Neyfy Castillo, sent another home run over the fence to make the score 2-5.

The Hops threatened again in the eighth inning after first baseman Lyle Lin reached first on a fielding error by Luis Toribio, which led to second baseman Cam Coursey scoring. Right fielder A.J. Vukovich hit an RBI single to center field to bring the difference to one, but their momentum stopped there.

The Emeralds will look to keep their hot streak alive for the third game of the home stand. First pitch will be thrown at 6:35 pm PT, and the game will be available to stream on MiLB.TV.
