For the 100th game of the season, Eugene walked away with their 62nd win against the Vancouver Canadians.

Landen Roupp was given the ball to start the game. He had a strong performance in five innings as he allowed only one hit, no runs, walked two, and struck out nine. He was awarded his second win of the season.

Eugene scored first in the second inning. Robert Emery grounded into a typical 6-4-3 double play, but Patrick Bailey made it home just in time.

A few innings later, Carter Williams singled on a fly ball to center field, and Simon Whiteman scored. After a throwing error by Vancouver’s center fielder, Dasan Brown, Luis Matos crossed the plate to make the score 3-0.

The Canadians jumped on the board in the top of the eighth inning when second baseman Miguel Hiraldo hit his seventh home run of the season over the left-center field wall.

The Emeralds immediately responded when Jairo Pomares hit a sacrifice fly to center field, and Matos scored again to make the score 4-1.

In the top of the ninth inning, Hiraldo singled on a fly ball to center field, and left fielder Gabriel Martinez crossed the plate for their second and final run of the night.

Eugene looks to continue the series on a high note with the second game tomorrow at 6:35 PM P.T. The game will be available to stream on MiLB.TV.
