AquaSox Announce Season Opener Roster

Four Frogs have ties to Pacific Northwest

Everett, WA - The Everett AquaSox start the season on the road in Pasco, however, our roster has four Frogs with local ties, top Seattle Mariners Draft Picks and players returning to Everett.

Infielder, Austin Shenton, 2019 5th Round Draft Pick from Florida International University is from Bellingham, but his new residency will be Funko Field. The FIU product finished his junior year hitting .330 with 47 RBI in 53 games while having an on-base percentage of .421.
Additional Washingtonians include outfielder, Trent Tingelstad from Marysville (University of Louisiana-Monroe, 2019 22nd Round), RHP Garrett Westberg from Federal Way (University of Central Florida, 2019 26th Round) and RHP Damon Casetta-Stubbs from Vancouver (Kings Way High School, 2018 11th Round).
2019 RHP 1st Round Draft Pick, George Kirby hailing from Elon University joins the AquaSox after 88.1 IP, 2.75 ERA and 107 SO. Kirby went into his junior year at Elon as a Colonial Athletic Association Preseason Honorable Mention but left as a three-time Pitcher of the Week, All-CAA First Team and CAA Picture of the Year. Other recognitions included ABCA/Rawlings Atlantic All-Region First Team, NCCSIA All-State First Team, Perfect Game/Rawlings College Second Team All-American, NCBWA Third Team All-America and Baseball America Third Team All-American.
Brandon Williamson is the third LHP on the AquaSox roster after being drafted in the 2nd Round from Texas Christian University. The Minnesota native struck out 89 in 77.1 innings of work during his junior year at TCU. Prior to TCU Williamson attended North Iowa Area Community College where he went 12-5, 151 SO in 115 IP. His 104 strikeouts in his sophomore season are a school record.
Familiar faces at Funko Field will include RHP Ivan Fortunato, Catcher Juan Camacho, Infielder Cesar Izturis Jr. and Cash Gladfelter. Catch your Frogs in action at Funko Field starting Friday, June 21 for Opening Night against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.
