Frogs Jump Ahead in Series, 6-3

Three home runs helped propel the 'Sox to victory

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett AquaSox bounced back, winning the third game in the series against the Eugene Emeralds, 6-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Yovanny Cuevas put the Emeralds on the board in the top of the third with an RBI double, driving in one run. Cesar Izturis Jr. tied the game in the bottom of the inning with a smoked RBI triple to left field, driving in Patrick Frick.
The AquaSox took the lead in the fourth inning when Carter Bins crushed a two-run home run, scoring Connor Hoover. Cuevas hit a solo home run for Eugene in the fifth, putting the score at 3-2.
After a 'Sox throwing error in the seventh inning, the Emeralds tied the game, 3-3, but Juan Camacho hit a solo homer to right field in the bottom of the inning, taking back the lead for the Frogs. Hoover tacked on two more runs for the AquaSox in the eight with a crushed two-run home run, giving the AquaSox a 6-3 lead.
Fred Villarreal closed the game, drawing a groundout, flyout and strikeout from three consecutive Eugene batters, solidifying the Frogs' 6-3 victory.
WRAPPING IT UP
At the plate, the AquaSox registered nine hits, highlighted by doubles and home runs from both Camacho and Hoover. On the mound, George Kirby started, pitching three innings and allowing four hits. Brayan Perez struck out six Emeralds in four innings pitched while Kipp Rollings and Villarreal pitched an inning apiece.
