PASCO, WA: Four Tri City Dust Devils (13-24, 42-58) pitchers combined to throw a two-hit shutout on the way to a 4-0 victory over the Everett AquaSox (17-20, 48-54) in the first game of a six-game series.

Tri City wasted little time in getting on the board as D'Shawn Knowles led off the first inning with a triple and then scored two batters later on an Osmy Gregorio sacrifice fly. Knowles would also score the game's second run when he led off the bottom of the third with a single, advanced from first base to third base on AquaSox pitcher Logan Rinehart's throwing error on a pickoff play and then came into score on Kyren Paris' triple. Paris scored two batters later on Gabe Matthews' sacrifice fly to put the Dust Devils up 3-0.

The score remained unchanged until the eighth inning when Osmy Gregorio grounded into a bases loaded double play that scored Strato Podares for the final run of the game.

Tri City pitchers only allowed two singles (Alberto Rodrigeuz and James Parker), retiring the final 15 AquaSox batters. Starting pitcher Victor Mederos made his professional debut, throwing two hitless innings, allowing one walk and one strikeout. John Swanda made his Dust Devils debut in the third inning and picked up the win by pitching four innings, allowing two hits, zero walks and six strikeouts. Dylan King pitched a perfect seventh and eighth inning, striking out two hitters. Glenn Albanese retired the side in the ninth inning with one strikeout to close out the game.

Mike Mokma retired all three batters that he faced in the seventh inning, striking out two batters. It was the ninth consecutive appearance in which Mokma has not allowed an earned run, going 11.1 innings and allowing seven hits, four walks and nine strikeouts during that streak. Mokma lowered his season ERA to 1.98.
