Brad Mills Named PCL Pitcher of the Week

Mills Earns Two Wins, PCL Accolades
April 16, 2013

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Round Rock Express starter Brad Mills has earned the Pacific Coast League's Pitcher of the Week honor after picking up victories in each of his first two starts of 2013.

Mills permitted just two runs (one earned) on five hits over 6.0 innings against Omaha on April 6 in his first start of the season, helping the E-Train to its third straight win to start the season. Mills followed that performance with 7.0 scoreless innings against the Iowa Cubs on April 11, the longest start by any Express starter this season.

The left-hander is in his first season with Round Rock, his seventh in professional baseball after starting his career with the Toronto Blue Jays and spending last season with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He is 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA and nine strikeouts through 13.0 innings on the mound over two starts this season.

Neil Ramirez was the only E-Train pitcher to earn the award last season, picking up the honor for the week ending on April 23, 2012.

Round Rock will begin a four-game series against the Oklahoma City RedHawks tomorrow night before returning home for an eight-game, nine-day home stand to include the New Orleans Zephyrs (April 20-23) and the Albuquerque Isotopes (April 25-28).
