Drew Robinson Named Texas Rangers Player of the Month

Utilityman Launched 10 Homers in June to Capture Honors

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Former Round Rock Express OF Drew Robinson was named the Texas Rangers Minor League Player of the Month for the month of June, the club announced Thursday. This marks the second consecutive month that an E-Train player has won the award as C Brett Nicholas took home the honors in May.

In 23 games during the month, Robinson hit .281 (27-96) with three doubles, two triples and 10 home runs. He also collected 25 RBI in that span. He was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for June 5-11 after hitting .467 (14-30) with 10 extra-base hits, including six home runs, during the week. Robinson was recalled to the Texas Rangers on July 7.

During his time with the Express, Robinson has racked up a .268 batting average (71-256) while notching 19 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs and 40 RBI. He has made starts at second base, third base, shortstop, left field, center field and designated hitter this season.

Down East RHP Emerson Martinez was named the organization's Pitcher of the Month while Frisco OF Scott Heineman took home Defender of the Month honors. Frisco RHP Ricardo Rodriguez was named Reliever of the Month and Spokane RHP Jacob Rogers was awarded with the inaugural True Ranger award, given to a player who embodies Texas Rangers Championship attributes on and off the field.
