Express Nominated for President's Trophy

Round Rock Selected as PCL Representative for National Award

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express was selected as the Pacific Coast League's nominee for the John H. Johnson President's Trophy as voted on by the 16 teams in the league. One team is nominated from 14 different leagues in Minor League Baseball. The award's national recipient will be announced at the 2013 Winter Meetings in Orlando, Florida. 

The President's Trophy is presented annually to MiLB's most complete franchise. Criteria for the award include franchise stability, contributions to league stability, contributions to baseball in the community and promotion of the baseball industry.

"The Round Rock Express is extremely honored to be the nominee of the Pacific Coast League for the prestigious John H. Johnson President's Trophy," Express President Dave Fendrick said. "It is the highest award presented by Minor League Baseball and we are flattered and grateful for the opportunity to represent our league and fellow franchises."

Round Rock completed its 14th season as a MiLB franchise and eighth at the Triple-A level in 2013. The Express finished the season second in the league in attendance and third in the standings in the American Conference Southern Division.
