Round Rock, Texas - The pressure is on for local singers and musicians who wish to perform the National Anthem at Dell Diamond this season. Brad Booker, Alex Franco and Sara Osburn from Mix 94.7's popular morning program "Booker, Alex and Sara" will serve as celebrity judges for the auditions, which are scheduled for Wednesday, February 15 from 6-9 p.m. at Dell Diamond's United Heritage Conference Center.
"We're excited to add a talented panel of celebrity judges to our audition process this year," Round Rock Express Director of Ballpark Entertainment Steve Richards said. "With Booker, Alex and Sara's help, I'm confident we will provide Express fans with the best lineup of National Anthem singers possible this season."
With over 40 years of combined radio experience, the trio has built one of the top-rated morning shows in Austin. "Booker, Alex and Sara" hit the airwaves in 2014 and was recently added to the lineup of Dish Nation, a television program that provides celebrity and pop culture news. The program can be heard live Monday-Friday on Mix 94.7 from 6-10 a.m., while Dish Nation airs on FOX 7 Austin weekdays from 12:30-1:00 p.m.
Every year, numerous individuals and groups audition to perform the Star Spangled Banner at one of Round Rock's 71 home games. Those wishing to tryout must keep their performance under 90 seconds while using a traditional, military style with little to no creative variation. Vocal submissions must be a capella, although instrumental auditions are welcome. Individuals and groups wishing to audition this Wednesday must fill out an application form available at RoundRockExpress.com or by following this link.
