Additionally, the Rangers have signed INF Josh Wilson to a minor league contract and have assigned him to Round Rock. INF Luis Mendez was transferred to the AA Frisco RoughRiders after just one game with the team.
Bass had made three relief appearances with the Express this season, allowing just two hits in 8.1 scoreless innings. He recorded 16 strikeouts while walking three batters. The righty is returning to the bigs for the first time since 2015 after spending all of last season with the Hokkaido Nippon Ham-Fighters of the Japan Nippon Professional Baseball league.
Webster is rejoining the Express after being on the Opening Day roster. He has appeared in three games, including two starts, for Round Rock this season. The righty has posted an 0-1 record with a 10.45 ERA (12 ER/10.1 IP). Webster has struck out 11 batters as compared to just three walks.
Wilson rejoins Round Rock from the independent York Revolution of the Atlantic League. The 36-year-old veteran is entering his 18th season in affiliated baseball, having spent time professionally with Florida (2005), Washington (2007), Tampa Bay (2007), Arizona (2009, 2011, 2013), San Diego (2009), Seattle (2009-2010), Milwaukee (2011), Texas (2014) and Detroit (2015). With these moves, the Express have 25 active, three on the disabled list and one on the temporary inactive list.
