Fort Worth Cats
The Fort Worth Cats won multiple Texas League titles over the course of their long and illustrious history, including six straight league championships between 1920 and 1925.
The club's official nickname was "Panthers," derived from an 1875 Dallas newspaper writer's comment chiding rival Fort Worth for being such a sleepy city that he saw a panther.
