Three new hires for the 2017 season
November 7, 2016

The Reading Fightin Phils have announced several new hires that are effective immediately. Fightin Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker made the announcements.

Michael Ventola, 28, will become the team's new Director of Public and Media Relations. In his new role with the club, Ventola will handle all media requests and press releases. He will also oversee the team's social media platforms, as well as website content. Ventola will continue to serve as the team's radio voice.

Ventola began working with the franchise back in 2014 as the team's radio broadcaster. The Easton Area High School graduate attended Immaculata University and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Communication.

The Fightins have proudly hired from within their successful internship program. Brian Wells, 23, a member of the 2016 internship class, will now take the role as Groups Manager. He will work to sell and service groups in the various picnic areas, the Savage 61 Dugout Suite and the Savage 61 RAM Club Box Seats.

Wells also worked part-time in concessions for the Fightin Phils from 2010-2015. He is a 2011 graduate of Wyomissing High School and graduated from Mount St. Mary's University in 2015 with a dual degree in Marketing and Communications.

Nick Crosby, 26, has been hired as the Fightin Phils Food and Beverage Manager. He's been an intern the past two seasons with the Fightins. He was a game-day intern in 2015 and the Food and Beverage intern this past season. Crosby, a Shillington native, graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 2009. He graduated from West Chester University in 2013.

19 of the 24 front office members were initially interns for the organization before being hired full-time.
