The Reading Fightin Phils, Class AA affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies are seeking hard working, goal oriented and attention to detail individuals for the 2019 season.   The internship requires a great amount of dedication throughout the baseball season.   The Reading Fightin Phils Internship program will provide a great opportunity for interns looking to immerse themselves in a full service sports and entertainment venue. The Fightins are looking for dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic and possess a god skill to handle day-to-day operational tasks and create a positive, fun-filled environment for our fans, staff and sponsors.
 


The Reading Fightin Phils Internship is a great learning experience. Upperclassman and recent college graduates have the opportunity to get directly involved and gain hands on experience in various aspects of Minor League Baseball including marketing, sales, ticket operations, customer service, concessions, public relations, graphic design and many other aspects of the sports industry. The associates work directly with the front office staff to get an overview of all of the different positions. The Fightin Phils internship is a paid position. Full time associates may work approximately 25-40 a week during the offseason and 40-80 hours a week during the season.  Fightin Phils are looking for enthusiastic and eager individuals to join the Fightin Phils front office staff as an intern. Interns are hired on a rolling basis November through May. Internships last 3 - 9 months. Departments include: group ticket sales, promotions, merchandise, concessions, operations, video production, graphics, & grounds crew.


Ticket Department & Group TicketSales: Ticket & Group sales associates will be required to make outgoing sales calls. These calls will be to groups that have booked in the past, as well as cold calls to potential groups. You will also help with people who call in, inquiring about groups.


Interns will also assist with the following: visiting groups, taking group photos, preparing group areas for home games, in game promotions, ticket office operations and assisting in the customer service booth. They will also develop and participate in promotions team activities aimed at generating public awareness.

Group Implementation: Group implementers will assist the Group sales staff with processing orders, printing and mailing tickets, answering phones, and data entry. You will learn TicketReturn as well as Score CRM. Ticket office Intern: Ticket office interns will assist with answering phones, box office sales, printing tickets, and data entry. You will learn TicketReturn as well as Score CRM. This internship starts in January.

Promotions Internship: Assist in in-game stadium promotion of upcoming Reading Fightin Phils home games and other stadium events, including but not limited to, gorilla marketing, in-game entertainment, social media, performing as a Fightin Phils mascot or another stadium character. Represent the Fightin Phils within the community as a mascot. Help in generating new ideas for in stadium promotions and in-game entertainment. Willing to make outside sales calls to solicit new business in group and sponsorship sales. Willing to assist in planning and successfully executing other stadium events, held on non-game days (including preseason and postseason) or before/after Fightin Phils games.

Concessions: The Food & Beverage internship is responsible for food for all concessions areas and related operations. The primary responsibilities would include assisting in ordering from food vendors. You would also be Responsible for receiving all food & beverage deliveries and make sure things are put away. Assist in coordinating, supervising, and training food staff. Help ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and safety standards. They also are involved with preparation of inventory sheets and closing of the concession operation on a nightly basis. Monthly inventory procedures and food cost analysis. Assist with purchasing and inventory control of the entire Concession Operation. There are two positions available. One of the positions start in January and the other position starts in March.

Stadium Operations:  Duties include willingness to paint, pressure wash and work outside. The Stadium Operations Intern will assist with all maintenance. This positions start in March till the end of the season. During the season, they are required to work normal hours as well as extended hours on all game days and extra events. Stadium Operations Intern is expected to work to achieve the highest level of customer service and stadium cleanliness at our 67 year old facility.


Videoboard: Video intern responsibilities include running the Click Effects Crossfire (video board) during games and creating video and graphic content for the website, video board and other ballpark displays. They are also asked to log game highlights, edit highlight videos and assist with promotional shoots and player interviews throughout the season. Additionally, there are opportunities to write and produce other team-related promotional videos. The internship requires working daily with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Click Effects Crossfire, Sony PMW-320K cameras and the NewTek 3Play XD425 replay system. The intern also utilizes and becomes familiar with Click Effects Blaze, the NewTek TriCaster TCXD40 switcher and the Broadcast Pix Slate 500G switcher. This position will start in April.
