Promo Preview: Cowboy Monkey Rodeo to Wrangle in Baseballtown

World-famous Team Ghost Riders make FirstEnergy Stadium debut on June 18th
February 5, 2014

On February 13th, the Reading Fightin Phils will announce their full promotional schedule for the 2014 season in conjunction with the first day of individual ticket sales. Between now and then, the Fightins will preview some highlights of the schedule.

Giddy-up! The Reading Fightin Phils will be welcoming the world-famous Cowboy Monkey Rodeo to the ballpark on Wednesday, June 18 when the team hosts the Akron RubberDucks at 7:05 p.m. The popular touring show features monkeys riding dogs as they herd sheep, all on the field at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Tim "Wild Thang" Leper and Team Ghost Riders will bring their action-packed and riveting performance to Baseballtown for the first time ever as he melds the jungle and the rodeo arena into one entertaining show. A 35-year old veteran in the rodeo circuit, Leper has trained the white-throated capuchin monkeys to ride the Border Collies like horses. Each of the monkeys herds big-horned sheep all while dressed as cowboys.

In recent years, the act has spiraled into a nationwide phenomenon, performing at NFL, NBA, and minor league venues all summer long. Team Ghost Riders have also appeared on America's Funniest Home Videos, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, The Jay Leno Show, and Steve Harvey's "Big Show".

Along with the rodeo theme of the night, the Fightins Phils and the Reading Eagle will present the Berks Country & Business Weekly Farm City Unity Awards.

Tickets for this and the rest of the 2014 slate of games go on sale February 13th online at Fightins.com, by phone at 610-370-BALL, or by stopping at the Fightin Phils Box Office at FirstEnergy Stadium.
