KISSIMMEE, Fla. (April 20, 2018) - The Florida Fire Frogs opened up a three-game weekend set against the Lakeland Flying Tigers with a 7-1 loss at Osceola County Stadium.

Ian Anderson (0-1) made his first home start of the season and managed to work through just 2.2 innings on the night. Lakeland (5-10) struck early against the right-hander with one run in each of the first three innings to put Florida (5-10) at a disadvantage.
Daz Cameron doubled to start the night for the visitors and scored on Isaac Paredes RBI groundout, Daniel Pinero started the second with a single to right and crossed the plate on Anthony Pereira's double to left, and Chad Sedio came home on a bases-loaded walk to Cam Gibson to force Anderson from the game.
The 19-year-old allowed three runs on four hits, two walks and four strikeouts, but needed 66 pitches (45 strikes) to record eight outs. The 2016 first-round draft pick worked 12 two-strike counts, but had seven of those at-bats finish with the opposition reaching base.
Jon Kennedy worked 3.1 scoreless frames out of the bullpen, stranding the bases loaded after taking over for Anderson in the third. The southpaw struck out four in his sixth appearance of the season.
Justin Ellison (1x3, 3B, RBI) cracked the scoreboard for the Fire Frogs with a run-scoring triple in the fifth inning to pull the home team within two. Omar Obregon (0x3, R) reached ahead of the left-handed hitting outfielder after being hit by a pitch with one out in the inning.
Anthony Castro (2-0) did not run into much trouble in his third start of the season, as the native of Venezuela had just one inning where he had to deal with more than one base runner. The RBI three-bagger by Ellison was the first run scored against the right-hander this season after starting the year with 16 scoreless frames to start the campaign.
Lakeland padded on three more runs against Florida's bullpen in the eighth, and pushed across an extra man in the ninth to finish with the final tally.
The Fire Frogs look to even the series at a game apiece in game two of the three-game set on Saturday night at Osceola County Stadium. RHP Bryse Wilson (1-0, 0.00) takes the bump for the home team against the Flying Tigers' RHP Tom de Blok (0-2, 11.05). First pitch is set for 6:31 p.m.
Saturday is Superhero Night at Osceola County Stadium, where fans can join the Fire Frogs as they throw on their capes and cowls to protect Kissimmee from the invading Flying Tigers on Saturday night. Specialty jerseys will be auctioned off in the team store during the game.
