COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Columbia Fireflies, in conjunction with the South Atlantic League, have released the team's schedule for the third season of professional baseball at Spirit Communications Park in downtown Columbia.

In 233 days, the Columbia Fireflies will open the 2018 season at Spirit Communications Park on Thursday, April 5, 2018, against one of their Southern Division rivals, the Augusta GreenJackets (San Francisco Giants). The contest kicks off Columbia's first seven-game homestand of the year, which includes a four-game series with Augusta, followed by a three-game set with the Hagerstown Suns (Washington Nationals).
 
"After a phenomenal first season, and in the midst of an amazing 2017 season, we can now look ahead to prepare for an unforgettable 2018," said Fireflies team President John Katz. "Now that the schedule is set, our team can start building a promotional calendar that will keep our great fans entertained all season long."
 
The Fireflies play a 140-game schedule in the South Atlantic League, with 70 home games played at Spirit Communications Park - the 2016 Ballpark Digest Ballpark of the Year. Check out the highlights of the 2018 home schedule:

  • 12 Budweiser Thirsty Thursdays
  • 11 Friday night games with post-game fireworks
  • 11 Saturday night games with post-game fireworks
  • 10 Splash Day Sundays

Local rivalries will take center-stage in 2018 as the Fireflies host Greenville and Charleston for ten games each. The Greenville Drive did not make a trip to Columbia in 2017.
The Fireflies play home games on Memorial Day (Monday, May 28 vs. Greenville Drive) and on Independence Day (Wednesday, July 4 vs. Greenville).
Columbia will unveil their game times and full promotional schedule for 2018 later this fall.
2018 Season Ticket Packages - Existing season ticket members will have a priority period to renew and reserve their same seat locations for 2018. Following that period, season tickets will be available to the general public. If interested in a new ticket package, please contact the Fireflies to be added to a priority list.
