Heidt's Big Day Carries Fisher Cats

Manchester - Gunnar Heidt homered and drove in four runs and Sean Reid-Foley picked up his sixth win as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats topped the Portland Sea Dogs 10-3 on Sunday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Reid-Foley(W: 6-7) allowed only four hits in his six innings, walking two and striking out three as the Fisher Cats took the five-game series from Portland. Carlos Ramirez (2 IP) and Justin Shafer (1 IP) tossed shutout relief for New Hampshire (37-56).
The Fisher Cats took advantage of wildness by Portland starter Henry Owens (L: 1-2) to score in the bottom of the first inning. Jonathan Davis walked to start the game and Richard Ureña followed with a single. Danny Jansen knocked in a run with a single. Ryan McBroom was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Tim Lopes walked. Gunnar Heidt's double made it 4-0.
Portland (43-47) cut the lead to 4-2 in the top of the fourth inning. Danny Mars singled and Cole Sturgeon doubled. Mars scored on a sacrifice fly by Michael Chavis and Jeremy Barfield knocked in a run with a groundout.
The Fisher Cats tacked on three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Derrick Loveless delivered a two-run single and Jonathan Davis knocked in a run with his first hit of the game.
Portland's Michael Chavis homered to make it 7-3 in the top of the sixth inning.
Heidt's home run, his 11th, highlighted a three-run seventh inning which also included a double by Loveless and an RBI single by Urena as the Fisher Cats opened up a 10-3 lead.
The homestand continues on Monday night with the Fisher Cats taking on the Reading Fightin Phils at 7:05 p.m. Kids can receive two free tickets to the Fisher Cats courtesy of the Oral Health Challenge, presented by Northeast Delta Dental.
