KISSIMMEE, Fla. (June 22, 2017) - The Atlanta Braves have announced the following roster moves that affect the Florida Fire Frogs roster prior to Thursday night's contest against the Fort Myers Miracle:
Cumberland, 21, was a first round draft pick by the Atlanta Braves in 2016 out of California. The switch-hitting catcher hit .263 through 55 games with the Rome Braves this season, collecting a team-high 10 home runs and 48 RBI.
Nevarez, 25, has played in 16 games this season with the Fire Frogs, batting .217 with a home run and five RBI.
Florida's roster sits at 25 players with13 pitchers and 12 position players, with one Major League rehab assignment one player on the disabled list.
The Fire Frogs return home to Osceola County Stadium to start the second half with game one of a four-game set against the Fort Myers Miracle on Thursday night. RHP Enderson Franco (1-4, 8.46) takes the mound for Florida against Fort Myers' LHP Lachlan Wells (3-8, 4.09). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with coverage starting at 6:50 p.m. on the Florida Fire Frogs Broadcasting Network.
Thursday is "Thirsty Thursday" at the ballpark, where fans can enjoy 12 oz. beers and sodas for just $1.
