Homestand Preview: April 18th-April 24th

RICHMOND, VA - The Flying Squirrels host the Reading Fightin' Phils and Altoona Curve for a seven-game homestand. The Squirrels faceoff against the Fightin' Phils for a four-game series April 18-21 before playing the Curve April 22-24.

Thursday, April 18th vs. Reading

Gates Open: 4:30 PM First Pitch: 6:35 PM

The Thursday Firework Series presented by Coventry Health Care of VA & Your Local Ford Dealers starts the seven-game series. Go Nut's for Reading participants join Nutzy on to the field for a pre-game parade around The Diamond. Classic Monkey Shine entertains fans on the Ultimate Fan Zone Stage.

Friday, April 19th vs. Reading

Gates Open: 6:00 PM First Pitch: 7:05 PM

Larry "The Soup Nazi" Thomas serves the Flying Squirrel fans with an appearance like no other presented by Verizon Wireless. Fans are encouraged to bring canned foods to The Diamond as all food will benefit FeedMore. Every Friday is Ladies Night where ladies can win prizes throughout the night.  Kids will run the bases following the game courtesy of McDonald's and Richmond Family Magazine. 

Saturday, April 20th vs. Reading

Gates Open: 4:30 PM First Pitch: 6:05 PM

The Squirrels turn back the clock with 50's Night at The Diamond with Wrenn Mangum signing Elvis tunes on the Ultimate Fan Zone Stage. Following the game fans will enjoy fireworks presented by HCA Virginia! Kids will run the bases following the game courtesy of McDonald's and Richmond Family Magazine. 

Sunday, April 21th vs. Reading

Gates Open: 12:30 PM First Pitch: 2:05 PM

Kroger Squirrels Tails Kids Club members on Sunday's can receive a free general admission ticket and eat free, all season long! Fans will get the chance to play catch on the field from 1:15-1:35 PM courtesy of Radio Disney and Nesquik. Additionally, the first 2,000 kids ages 14 and under will receive a Slap Watch courtesy of Tum-E Yummies. Kids will run the bases following the game courtesy of McDonald's and Richmond Family Magazine. 

Monday, April 22nd vs. Altoona

Gates Open: 5:30 PM First Pitch: 6:35 PM

Game one against Altoona welcomes Go Nut's for Reading participants on to the field for a pre-game parade around The Diamond. Fans are encouraged to carpool, ride a bus, walk or bike to the game as part of Clean Air Champions Night presented by Ride Finders. Help Greater Richmond Transit Company clean up the air throughout Richmond. Fans of all ages will enjoy $1 hot dogs every Monday all season long! McDonald's Mondays offers fans the opportunity to bring in a McDonald's restaurant receipt and receive one ticket free with purchase of another one at equal or greater value. 

Tuesday, April 23rd vs. Altoona

Gates Open: 5:30 PM First Pitch: 6:35 PM

From the racetrack to The Diamond, Michael Waltrip and Martin Truex Jr. headline the Richmond International Raceway Night. These two drivers from Michael Waltrip Racing will be on hand for an Impaired Driving Simulation Course conducted by the Virginia State Police and an exclusive meet and greet in the PFG Picnic Zone courtesy of AAA. 

Wednesday, April 24th vs. Altoona

Gates Open: 9:30 AM First Pitch: 10:35 AM

The homestand concludes with an Education Day sponsored by Partners Financial Federal Credit Union as schoolchildren from every corner of the Greater Richmond area will enjoy a day of baseball at The Diamond. Kids will be treated to the music of The Diggity Dudes. Each student will receive a 2013 Education Day Activity Book featuring a variety of reading and math exercises involving baseball, learning and the Flying Squirrels!
