Kyle Ryan Named FSL Post-Season All-Star

Lakeland Flying Tigers left-handed pitcher Kyle Ryan has been named to the Florida State League Post-Season All-Star Team. The team was announced by League President Chuck Murphy and was selected by Field Managers, Official Scorers and sports writers representing the twelve teams in the league.   

Ryan currently leads the Flying Tigers starters in almost every category including wins (11), ERA (3.16), innings pitched (128.0), opponents batting average (.248) and WHIP (1.22). He is second on the team with 86 strikeouts. Ryan's 11 wins are tied for the FSL lead and his 3.16 ERA ranks 5th in the league. He is also 4th in the league in batting average against and 5th in innings pitched. 

Ryan was selected to the FSL Mid-Season All-Star Team and was the starting pitcher for the North Division in the 52nd annual FSL All-Star Game where he pitched a perfect inning while striking out two of the three batters he faced. He was Florida State League Pitcher of the Week for the period of April 15-21. 

This is Ryan's fourth professional season. He was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 11th round of the June 2010 draft. Ryan was born in Auburndale, Florida and played high school baseball at Auburndale High School. He was an All-County selection by The Ledger in 2010.
