Marlins, FSL continue scholarship program for 2013

168 scholarships have been awarded over 14 years

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 30, 2013) - The Miami Marlins and Florida State League, for the fourteenth straight year, will fund the Florida State League Scholarship Program for the 2013 baseball season.

The scholarships have a monetary value of $1,500 each and will be presented to a student employee, child or grandchild of an employee of Florida State League teams. Selection will be based on grades, leadership capabilities and job performance. A total of 168 scholarships have been awarded to qualified applicants since the inception of the program.

The Miami Marlins provide a generous contribution to the scholarship program. The purpose of the program is to encourage and reward our school age applicants and to send a message that an education is the key to success in life.
