FORT MYERS, Fla. -  The Fort Myers Miracle won the Second Half South Division Title for the second straight season on Sunday afternoon at Hammond Stadium.

The Miracle defeated the Clearwater Threshers, 2-1, while the Charlotte Stone Crabs fell to the Florida Fire Frogs, 5-2. The teams finished tied atop the South Division, but the Miracle owned the tiebreaker due to head-to-head record in the second half.

Fort Myers broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning on an Aaron Whitefield two-out single to left. Whitefield then stole second and third and scored on a throwing error by catcher Henri Lartigue. Lartigue made two throwing errors in the inning.

Clearwater cut the deficit in half in the sixth on an RBI single by Luke Williams, but it was the only run the Threshers would push across against Miracle pitching.

After Brusdar Graterol pitched 4.2 scoreless innings, Jovani Moran (6-1) entered and earned his sixth win of the season by allowing just one run in 2.1 innings. Colton Davis notched his fourth save with two scoreless innings.

Ramon Rosso started for the Threshers and pitched three scoreless innings before giving way to JD Hammer. Hammer (1-2) took the loss after allowing two runs (0 earned) in one inning.

The Miracle will open the 2018 Divisional Series on Tuesday night at Hammond Stadium against the Palm Beach Cardinals in a best-of-three series. The Miracle went 4-11 against the Cardinals during the regular season.
