The victory extends the Mussels’ (15-13) longest winning streak of the season, giving Fort Myers its first series win of 2021.

Edouard Julien started the night with a leadoff home run to right in the first inning, registering an exit velocity of 107 miles per hour.

Mighty Mussels starter Sean Mooney scattered four walks over four shutout innings, fanning five St. Lucie (16-12) hitters to solidify the lead.

With Fort Myers leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Aaron Sabato lined a single to center with two outs. The next batter was Jeferson Morales, who smacked a base hit to left. Yunior Severino followed by pulling a single to right to score Sabato and make it 2-0.

In a tie game in the bottom of the seventh, the Mussels called upon their two-out magic once again. Willie Joe Garry Jr. smashed a triple to deep center before Edouard Julien singled to left to give Fort Myers the decisive 3-2 lead.
