FORT MYERS, Fla. - Andres Luna homered twice and drove in a career-high six runs as the Palm Beach Cardinals defeated the Fort Myers Miracle, 12-2, on Sunday afternoon in Fort Myers. The win snapped a nine-game losing streak to Fort Myers.
Luna's first blast, a two-run shot in the fourth, gave the Cardinals a 4-0 lead. Luna also went deep in the ninth and finished a triple shy of the cycle.
The Miracle scored both of their runs in the fourth on a Trey Cabbage RBI single and an Andrew Bechtold sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 4-2.
Palm Beach scored three times in the fifth to grab a 7-2 lead before scoring five runs over the final three innings to put the game out of reach.
Cody Allen opened for the Miracle and tossed a scoreless top of the first. The right-hander has not allowed a run in four straight outings with Fort Myers.
Lachlan Wells (0-1) suffered the loss after allowing four runs in two innings. Wells left the game in the fourth with due to injury.  
Ryan Costello and Bechtold became the first position players to pitch for the Miracle this season. Bechtold consistently hit 96 MPH in his one inning of work.
The Miracle open a four-game series on Monday night in Fort Myers against the Daytona Tortugas, the Class-A Advanced affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. First pitch is slated for 7:00 p.m.
