*FORT WAYNE, Ind. *-- The Fort Wayne TinCaps, playing for the first time as their new alternate identity, Manzanas Luchadoras ("Fighting Apples" in Spanish), overcame a four-run deficit to beat the South Bend Cubs, in walk-off fashion, 6-5, at Parkview Field on Friday night.

A crowd of 6,313 roared as shortstop Jarryd Dale *hit a game-winning, two-run triple into the right field corner to score pinch-runner *Reinaldo Ilarraza *and right fielder *Agustín Ruiz from second base and first, respectively. This was Fort Wayne's third walk-off victory of the season, and the largest deficit the team had overcome in a victory this year.

Fort Wayne (15-18, 42-57) trailed, 4-0, midway through the seventh inning. After "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," second baseman *Olivier Basabe *hit a two-run triple in home seventh to slice the deficit in half. Ruiz then plated Basabe with a groundout.

South Bend (22-11, 56-43), the Midwest League West Division second-half leader, boosted its lead to 5-3 in the eighth. But in the bottom half of the frame, Albert Fabian, hit an opposite-field home run to the Rohrman Automotive Group Home Run Porch in left to cut the margin back to one. Fabian joined the club this week after a promotion by the Padres from Single-A Lake Elsinore.

As part of the Hispanic Heritage Weekend festivities, the team is wearing special jerseys and hats. South Bend is as well, taking on their Los Cabritos Maldichos (the Cursed Goats) identity. Other elements Friday included performances by Amaneceres de Mexico, a local dance group, and public address provided in Spanish for several innings. Fort Wayne starters also took the field pregame with the flags of their home countries, including Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela.
