FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The TinCaps broke their overall single-season franchise attendance record on Wednesday night, as Fort Wayne hosted the Quad Cities River Bandits in Game 1 of the Midwest League Championship Series. With a passionate crowd of 1,874 in the rain at Parkview Field on Wednesday, the TinCaps have drawn 415,248 fans in 2017, surpassing the previous high of 413,701 in 2016.

Fort Wayne still has one home game remaining at Parkview Field. The TinCaps will host Quad Cities in Game 2 of this best-of-five series on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for the game are available online at TinCapsTickets.com, by calling 260-482-6400, and at the Parkview Field Ticket Office. Like in the regular season, it'll be a Thirsty Thursday™, presented by Rudy's Shop, with $1 domestic draft beer and other drink specials. Also like in the regular season, tickets start at just $5.

"We could sound like a broken record by now, but it remains true: Our fans are simply phenomenal," TinCaps President Mike Nutter said. "This year, especially, speaks to the loyal dedication of our fanbase. Through all the rain and the team's early season struggles on the field, people never stopped supporting, and the guys on the field have rewarded them with a special run to the Midwest League Championship Series. Hopefully we can make this place rock one more time on Thursday night."

The TinCaps drew 409,253 fans during the regular season, which ranked second in the franchise's 25 year-history (behind only 2016), and now have added 5,995 fans to that number through three home playoff games so far.

Fort Wayne's overall attendance in 2017 is higher than 11 of 30 Triple-A clubs, 29 of 30 Double-A organizations, and ranks second out of Minor League Baseball's 100 teams at the Single-A level and below. That's 22nd out of 160 in total.
