FREDERICK, MD-The Frederick Keys will have their second jersey auction as part of a six-game homestand from Friday, August 10 to Thursday, August 16. Other promotions include Salute to the Orioles Night, Scout Night, two fireworks shows and the final Meet the Team event of the season. Following a three-game series in Potomac, the Keys return home on Friday to face the Buies Creek Astros, the first and only trip by the Astros to Nymeo Field this year. First pitch is at 7:00 o'clock and gates open at six for Cancer Awareness Night. Keys players and coaches will wear special jerseys with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Fans can bid on jerseys on the concourse during the game, while a fireworks double show follows the game sponsored by Community Radiology Associates and Quincy Village. This is a Fan Vote Fireworks, and those coming to the game can vote on the musical selection by visiting the team's Facebook page.
Saturday's game is at 6 o'clock and is Salute to the Orioles Night. A partnership that has lasted since the Keys inception, the club will pay tribute to it's long-standing relationship with the O's and some of the great players who have come through Frederick. Additionally, it is Scout Night presented by Wegman's. Local scout troops can take part in a pre-game parade starting at 5:30, while after the game, troops can camp out on the outfield. Fireworks follow the game sponsored by Wegman's and Visit Myrtle Beach.
The series with the Astros concludes on Sunday at 2 p.m with the final Meet the Team Event of the year. Gates open at 1 p.m and from 1-1:30 fans can meet and get autographs from their favorite Keys players and coaches. To go with this, the first 1,000 fans receive a rubber duck presented by Precision Heating and Cooling, while it a Summer Reading Day and a Sunday Funday.
Following an off-day on Monday, the Keys take on the Salem Red Sox from Tuesday, August 14-Thursday, August 16. All three games begin at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday is Emergency Preparedness Day presented by Divisions of Emergency Management and a Guaranteed Win Tuesday sponsored by WFRE/WFMD. That is followed by Frederick County Parks and Rec. Night while it is a Wear Orange Wednesday courtesy of MDOT. Fans who wear Keys or Orioles orange and eligible for buy one, get one free tickets (tickets must be purchased on the day of game).
The homestand concludes on Thursday with Fort Detrick Night presented by En-Net Services. Discounted tickets are available for active duty military members.
