FREDERICK, MD-With Halloween in the rearview mirror and the holiday season rapidly approaching, the Frederick Keys are excited to announce that the annual holiday event will take place on Saturday, December 1 from 10 a.m-1 p.m in the Mattress Warehouse Club (located on the second level of Nymeo Field). Fans of all ages are welcome to attend this event which is free of charge.
"The Keys holiday event is a wonderful way to celebrate the spirit of the season with our awesome fans," said Keys Director of Marketing, Erin Lawson. "This year we have several fun contests planned as well as some of our favorite holiday staples that everyone can enjoy."
New this season will be an ugly sweater contest. Fans are encouraged to find the tackiest, funkiest and most absurd sweaters possible to wear. Prizes will be handed out for the ugliest of the ugly sweaters.
To go with this, the CooKEY contest returns. Fans can bring their favorite holiday treat to be judged and you could also win a great prize. Free hot cocoa and coffee will be available as well.
Those in need of Christmas presents for loved ones will have plenty of options. Ticket plans for the 2019 season will be available for purchase and include the choice of a Ryan Mountcastle bobblehead or a Carolina League All-Star Classic hat. To be eligible to purchase all-star game tickets, fans must purchase a 2019 ticket plan.
Anyone looking for stocking stuffers can also purchase Keys gear, while youngsters can expect a visit from Keyote Claus, who is slated to make a visit from the North Pole.
Fans can also bring new and unwrapped toys to contribute to the Toys for Tots Drive. Those who bring a toy will receive a Keys hat and two tickets to a 2019 game. Prize packs will be limited to one per person.
Planning for the 2019 Frederick Keys season is underway, which includes the Carolina League All-Star Classic on Tuesday, June 18 presented by Visit Frederick.
