All autograph signings will be free to P-Nats fans, as these celebrity autograph appearance events are included with the price of admission to see the P-Nats play at Northwest Federal Field.
Each celebrity guest will engage with the P-Nats' faithful during at least one public autograph signing throughout each appearance in addition to a ceremonial first pitch.
Posed photography with P-Nats fans and custom inscriptions with autographed items are at the discretion of each celebrity guest.
The lines for celebrity autograph guests at Northwest Federal Field will begin as soon as gates open to Pfitzner Stadium.
8x10 photos of celebrity guests will be available for sale at the autograph table on the night of the celebrity appearance.
The 2019 Legends Autograph Series will get underway on Saturday, June 22nd with an appearance from Washington Capitals legend Peter Bondra. The night will also feature the P-Nats' celebration of the 35th anniversary of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom with an Indiana Strasburg Bobblehead and custom Indiana Jones theme jerseys.
A local fan favorite and NHL legend, Bondra joined the Capitals for the 1990-1991 season and played with Washington into the 2003-2004 campaign. A 17-year NHL veteran who played through the 2006-2007 season, the Capitals selected Bondra with the 156th overall pick in the 1990 NHL Draft.
The Slovakian native Bondra was a five-time NHL All-Star and is one of just 45 players in NHL history to have scored at least 500 career goals. Bondra is second in Capitals history in goal scored (472), third in games played (961), second in power play goals (137), and first in short-handed goals (32).
In addition to Bondra's appearance on 6/22, the first 1,000 fans to the ballpark will receive an Indiana Strasburg Bobblehead. It is also the first Scout Night of the season, while there will be fireworks after the game. First pitch on 6/22 is scheduled for 6:35pm.
The autograph series will continue with an appearance from MLB Legends Fred McGriff on Saturday, July 20th. That night's matchup with the Fayetteville Wood Peckers (Houston Astros) will feature a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Woodstock with custom theme jerseys, the organization's second scout night of the season, postgame fireworks, and a Juan Soto "Road to the Show" bobblehead giveaway.
A five-time All-Star, McGriff was a ninth-round pick by the New York Yankees in the 1989 MLB Draft. Traded just over a year later in December of 1989, McGriff joined the Toronto Blue Jays organization and later made his MLB debut for Toronto on 5/18/86.
Nicknamed the "Crime Dog" by broadcaster Chris Berman as a play on the cartoon character "McGruff the Crime Dog," McGriff played for six teams over a 19-year career. A World Series Champion with the Atlanta Braves in 1995, McGriff finished his career with 493 home runs and a .284 batting average. The longtime first baseman hit at least 30 home runs in nine seasons. McGriff won the All-Star Game MVP in 1994 and notched three Silver Slugger Awards over his career.
Included in the night's festivities with the Fred McGriff autograph signing is a Juan Soto "Road to the Show" Childish Bambino bobblehead giveaway for the first 1,000 fans to the game. First pitch on 7/20 is scheduled for 6:35pm.
D.C. Basketball night is set for Friday, August 9th, as Wizards great Etan Thomas will be at the ballpark for an autograph appearance. In addition to D.C. Basketball night, Potomac's game vs. the Lynchburg Hillcats (Cleveland Indians) will also be a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Ace Ventura Pet Detective, Pets in the Park Night, and a Juan Soto P-Nats T-Shirt giveaway.
A first-round pick in the 2000 NBA Draft out of Syracuse University, Thomas started his career with the Dallas Mavericks. Before he played a game for Dallas, the Mavericks traded Thomas to the Wizards, where he spent nearly his entire career. Thomas' best season for Washington came in the 2003-2004 campaign when he set career highs in games played (79), minutes per game (24.1), rebounds per game (6.7), and points per game (8.9).
Thomas played through the 2008-2009 season with the Wizards, spent one season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and wrapped up his career with 13 games in the 2010-2011 season with the Atlanta Hawks. Since he retired from the NBA, Thomas has devoted himself to activism and supporting social causes. He helped with the "Register for Change" voter registration drives in 2008 and donated to the Haiti relief efforts after the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
In addition to autographs from Thomas, the first 1,000 fans to the park on 8/9 will be able to take home a Juan Soto P-Nats Jersey T-Shirt. Fans can also bring their pets to the park for a night full of festivities! First pitch for the 8/9 matchup is scheduled for 7:05pm.
As part of Potomac's celebration of the 30th anniversary of Field of Dreams on Saturday August 10th, the P-Nats will host actor Dwier Brown. Brown, who played John Kinsella in the film, has made dozens of TV and movie appearances throughout his career. He has appeared on TV shows like Rizzoli & IslesCSI, and Criminal Minds, and his one other major film appearance came in 1998, when he appeared in Dennis the Menace Strikes Again.
Brown wrote a book title "If You Build It…" that acts as a memoir, which highlights how the time that he appeared in Field of Dreams was the pinnacle of his acting career and how it has led to stories from many fans about their father and how the film changed their life. The story becomes that much more meaningful when Brown explains that his father passed away shortly before filming began on Field of Dreams.
The first 1,000 fans to the game on August 10th vs. the Hillcats will be able to take home a Dwier Brown Bobblehead, designed after his John Kinsella character. The P-Nats will wear custom Field of Dreams theme jerseys, while it's another Scout Night at the ballpark with post-game fireworks. First pitch between the P-Nats and Lynchburg is set for 6:35pm.
Less than two weeks after Brown's appearance, the P-Nats will run back WWE Legends Night and welcome Jerry "The King" Lawler to Northwest Federal Field for "A Royal Night with the King" on Friday, August 23rd. Lawler, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007, has been involved in professional wrestling since 1970. He has been with the WWE in either a full or part time capacity since 2001.
Throughout his career, Lawler has either feuded or teamed with superstars such as Billy Graham, Bob Orton Jr., Randy Savage, Curt Hennig, and even feuded with comedian Andy Kaufman, which resulted in a wrestling match and a must-see appearance with the two on Late Night with David Letterman.
In addition to Lawler's autograph appearance, the first 1,000 fans to the 8/23 game between the P-Nats and Winston-Salem Dash (Chicago White Sox) will receive a mini Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium replica.
