Fresno RHP Paolo Espino returns to action following two months on IL

El Paso, TX (Monday, August 19) - The Fresno Grizzlies (55-71) slipped to 3-22 since July 23 on Monday evening, losing 9-1 to the El Paso Chihuahuas (74-52) in the first of three games at Southwest University Park. The Grizzlies are 0-5 on their final road trip of the season, which will last 11 games through Sunday (Albuquerque).
Reigining PCL Player of The Week Aderlin Rodriguez drove in the first two runs for El Paso, on a first inning single and a sixth inning solo homer. The Chihuahuas broke the game open with seven runs in the sixth, which included a two-run double by Rodrigo Orozco and a two-run homer from Austin Allen. Orozco would add a RBI triple an inning later in the eighth to finish the night's scoring.
Fresno strung together three singles in the seventh for their lone run (Jake Noll, Drew Ward and Jose Marmolejos- RBI).
Pitching in Triple-A for the first time in over two months (June 16), right-hander Paolo Espino returned to action from the injured list for the Grizzlies on Monday. Easing back in with a four-inning start, Espino allowed one earned run (1 BB, 2 K). Righty Jacob Nix, on a rehab assignment from the San Diego Padres, tossed five shutout innings (3 H, 1 BB, 6 K).
