Grizzlies defeat River Cats 7-6 Friday night

The Fresno Grizzlies (36-38) walked off in the ninth to defeat the Sacramento River Cats (29-43) 7-6 in the second of their four-game series on Friday night. With the win, Fresno moved to 8-2 on the season with Mike Hauschild on the mound. It's the first time this season the Grizzlies won at home when trailing after the eighth.
Sacramento took a 3-0 lead over the Grizzlies in the first inning. Mac Williamson knocked a two-run single that scored Jarrett Parker who walked and Ryder Jones (2-for-4) who doubled to get on. Williamson then scored on a Jae-Gyun Hwang RBI double.
The Grizzlies tied the contest 3-3 in the third. Preston Tucker (2-for-4) hit a two-run single for his team-leading 55th RBI of the season. Reid Brignac and Tony Kemp (2-for-4) both singled to get on and scored on the hit. Colin Moran then recorded his 55th RBI of the season to tie Tucker for the club lead when he hit a sacrifice fly to score Tyler White (2-for-3) who also singled to get on.
The River Cats took a 4-3 lead in the fifth on Williamson's third RBI of the game. He hit a sacrifice fly to score Parker who reached on a fielder's choice. The Grizzlies once again tied the game, on a sacrifice fly of their own in the bottom of the frame. Kemp scored again on the sacrifice by Derek Fisher to make the score 4-4.
Sacramento would take a 6-4 lead to the stretch when they tacked on two runs in the seventh. Chris Shaw scored Parker (walk) with a RBI double and Wynton Bernard hit a RBI single that scored Jones (single).
Fresno cut the River Cats' lead to 6-5 in the eighth on an A.J. Reed RBI groundout. Fisher scored on the play after reaching on an error. In the ninth, Teoscar Hernández knocked a base hit for the walk-off victory. Moran was the fourth batter to walk in the inning that allowed Alejandro Garcia (pinch ran for Max Stassi) to score to tie the contest before Hernandez's knock brought home Kemp. For Kemp it was his first three-run game of the season.
Grizzlies starter Hauschild allowed four runs on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts through five innings. Reliever Tyson Perez (2-0) earned the win in a perfect ninth with one strikeout.
River Cats starter Michael Roth allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits in 6.2 IP. He walked two and struck out four. Reliever Derek Law (0-1) suffered the loss after allowing the final Fresno runs in the ninth.
The Grizzlies and the River Cats will close out the four-game set at Chukchansi Park with a double header on Saturday. The first pitch for game one is set for 5:05 p.m.
