Fresno, CA – Fresno Grizzlies pitcher Sam Weatherly has been tabbed as Low-A Westʼs Pitcher of the Week for July 5-11. Weatherly earned his third professional win after outdueling San Jose Giantsʼ starter Aaron Sanchez, who was on a rehab assignment.

Weatherly, 22, tossed a career-high six scoreless innings on July 10th against San Jose. He allowed two hits and one walk while striking out seven. Thanks to the leftyʼs performance, the Grizzlies now hold the best record in Low-A West.

This is the first Pitcher of the Week honor for the Ann Arbor, Michigan native. Weatherly was selected by the Rockies in the 3rd round of the 2020 draft out of Clemson University.

Fresno continues their road trip tomorrow night in Stockton and return back home against the Modesto Nuts on Tuesday, July 20th.
