San Antonio (17-21, 55-50) struck first in Saturday night’s action, tallying three runs on five hits in the top of the 4th. After back-to-back hits to begin the inning, Missions first baseman Brandon Dixon slugged his sixth home run of the season to give San Antonio an early 3-0 lead.

Frisco (22-16, 58-49) responded for their first runs in the bottom of the 5th, beginning with a two-out single from second baseman Luisangel Acuna. Following Acuna’s single, Justin Foscue and Kellen Strahm produced consecutive run-scoring hits to cut Saturday’s score to 3-2.

After the Missions notched a pair of runs in the top of the 8th, Frisco moved the score back to a one-run game on a base hit from Jonathan Ornelas with two outs to score a pair of runs. Frisco entered the bottom of the 9th trailing 5-4, but couldn’t get any action off Missions righty Moises Lugo, who earned the save.
