FRISCO, Texas (July 15, 2021) – The Frisco RoughRiders took game three of six from the Springfield Cardinals 9-3 on Thursday night from Riders Field.

Hans Crouse (2-2) cruised on the mound handing Frisco (39-24) its second win of the series.

Crouse captured the win behind five innings of no-hit baseball, striking out seven while walking three.

The Riders exploded for four runs in the first inning started by a Josh Jung two-run single. Diosbel Arias followed with an RBI single before Steele Walker scored on an error to make it 4-0.

An inning later, Jung drilled a two-run homer to left, his fifth of the season. The home run made the score 6-0.

It took until the sixth inning for the Cardinals (23-40) to find the scoreboard. Springfield’s three-run sixth inning started with a run-scoring passed ball, followed by a two-run single from Luken Baker, trimming the lead to 6-3.

In the Riders seventh, Arias hit an infield RBI single before by a bases-loaded Jake Hoover free pass giving Frisco an 8-3 lead. Bubba Thompson finished the scoring in the inning with an RBI fielder’s choice, plating the ninth run of the game.

Kevin McGovern (1-1) took the loss for the Cardinals as he allowed five earned on ten hits.

The RoughRiders and Cardinals are back on the diamond on Friday, July 16th at 7:05 p.m. from Riders Field. Frisco hands RHP Yerry Rodriguez (0-1, 3.53) the ball against LHP Tyler Pike (1-2, 6.31) for Springfield.
