FRISCO, Texas (July 8, 2021) – The Frisco RoughRiders blanked the Arkansas Travelers with an 8-0 victory on Thursday from Dickey-Stephens Park.

The RoughRiders (37-20) struck in the third inning when Josh Stowers and Steele Walker hit back-to-back RBI singles, making it 2-0.

In the fourth, Bubba Thompson crushed a two-run homer to make it 4-0. It was Thompson's seventh blast of the season.

Stowers added on with a solo long ball in the fifth, his team-best 11th of the year, before a Diosbel Arias RBI double and J.P. Martinez RBI single gave Frisco a 7-0 advantage.

The RoughRiders bashed their third homer of the night when Anderson Tejeda crushed one to center in the seventh to give Frisco an 8-0 lead.

In his Riders debut, Grant Anderson (1-0) took home the win, allowing just two base runners on walks over 1.1 innings while striking out two. Noah Bremer started and threw 3.2 innings with four strikeouts while Tyler Thomas and Cole Uvila both threw two shutout innings apiece to contribute to Frisco's league-best eighth shutout of the year.

Arkansas (29-27) starter Brandon Williamson (2-3) was handed the loss, ceding seven runs on nine hits over his four innings.

The RoughRiders continue their six-game series with the Travelers on Friday, July 9th at 7:10 p.m.
